Curb Appeal

After Baby G's long mid-morning nap we had lunch then headed into town to Lowes to get some stuff for our front landscaping.
As we started setting everything up KitCat jumped into the window from inside the garage which caught Baby G's attention.
Here's our big boy getting ready to help mom and dad plant some shrubs.
Mom and Dad had shovels but we made Baby G dig with his hands.
Then Baby G heard a train whistle off in the distance and he turned and looked at me with this adorable expression.  I know he's not smiling....but I think it is my favorite picture.  Maybe it's his eyes.

Then Mr. G had to head back to Lowes to get our second load of stuff and Baby G was waving bye as his daddy drove passed.

After daddy left I tried to get some pictures of Baby G posing holding a pumpkin.
But apparently the pumpkin was too heavy to hold.
Then Baby G took off with one of my gourds.
And, of course, he was gonna try and eat it.
Then we enjoyed a nice game of...."I'm Gonna Get You"
Once daddy got home it was Baby G's job to carry around the big white plastic thing that covered our trunk when we hauled the hay back from the store.
 And he thoroughly....
 Enjoyed his job.
Here's Mr. G carrying one of the many bags of mulch up to the house.

Baby G really enjoyed watching daddy....
 Hoe the dirt.

So did KitCat....who some how managed to squeeze between the window and screen.  Silly Cat.
You don't need to tack down the weed barrier....just stick a Baby G on it to hold it down.
Baby G got tired of the front yard so he headed to the back yard to play.
This big boy quickly climbed up the rope ladder and was....
 Getting ready to....
 Slide.

Then he ran back and started climbing up the ladder again....
But this time he had to wait his turn.
We were able to get everything done just before the sun went down and I think Mr. G did a fantastic job.
Despite having never done this before and having a limited budget....I'd say our fall decor doesn't look half bad.  But most of all we had a blast putting it all together.....Especially Baby G.

Baby G and Shaving Cream

On Sunday morning Mr. G was shaving before church and Baby G stood on his step stool and watched every move that his daddy made.  And then...

Baby G dipped his hands in the shaving cream water, looked at himself in the mirror, and
Slowly started applying the shaving cream....
He was very proud of himself.  My only hope is that when he really does need to start shaving he will have a little better direction with the shaving cream.

Painting Punkins 2012

We still had our punkins from the punkin patch and since Mr. G got off work early we thought it would be a perfect night to paint punkins.  This has become a G-family tradition.  As you might remember, last year...
Baby G painted his first punkin by putting his hand and foot prints on it.
But this year Baby G felt like he was ready to paint his punkin all by himself.
So after laying down a trash bag, taking his clothes off, and even adding a bib for good measure....I dipped  a paint brush in the paint and handed it over to our 15 month old boy.
And after worrying that he would stick the paint brush in his mouth we were both really excited to watch him actually start painting his punkin.
It was so much fun to watch him while he worked.
He was so serious about it...he even made sure he got the stem of the punkin.
Then I realized that the bib was probably not needed so I took it off which seemed to make Baby G very happy.
And back to work he went.
 He was one happy boy.
He would paint and then hand me the paint brush so I could reload it with more paint.

Then he would go back to creating his masterpiece.
The more I was watching him paint the more I realized that when I took off Baby G's bib I didn't take into consideration his belly.
 The more he painted...
And the closer his belly got to the punkin.

But Baby G didn't mind a little paint on his belly.  It is a sacrifice that all good artists have to make.
I just love this smile but unfortunately it didn't last.  Baby G couldn't stand it any longer and finally stuck the paint brush in his mouth and when he did both Mr. G and I yelled out, "NO," simultaneously which, of course, made Baby G....
 Cry.
And he kept crying because my guess is that the paint didn't taste very good.
So after working to get the bad taste out of his mouth we quickly decided it was....
Bath time!!!
And when bath time was all said and done and Baby G was paint free we decided to get one last picture of the final project.  Truthfully, in the past I wasn't much of a fan of abstract art....but I guess times have changed because I think Baby G's punkin is perfect.

Last Minute Trip

At the last minute on Friday afternoon we decided to head up north to see our family.
When we got there my cute lil nephew was standing outside to greet us.
Since we don't live very close it isn't very often that Baby G gets to play with his cousin so you can well imagine that there were quite a few pictures taken that night.
Baby G's cousin had an awesome room filled with toys....
But wouldn't you know they would both want the same toy.
When in doubt....just grab another ball.
My nephew was being silly and decided to act like he was laying down to go to sleep....

But before he could get up his Uncle G came and started tickling him like crazy.  My nephew thought it was the greatest thing and started laughing hysterically.  It was super cute.
On the other side of the room Baby G was trying to learn how to play their wooden flute.

No....this is not Baby G and my nephew but I have always loved this picture and.....
I could see a lot of similarities between that picture and this one.  Only this caption would read something like, "You weren't thinking of taking my ball, were you?"

We were wanting to try and get a picture of the boys hugging but that wasn't happening so I asked Baby G to give his cousin a kiss.... And he gave him a good one....right on the shoulder.
Then Baby G got silly and pulled the hat over his eyes and started walking around.  I was able to get this picture right before he almost ran into the camera.
After supper the boys enjoyed playing with Grandma and Papa and all the toys.
Unfortunately, Baby G is scared to death of his uncle....so when his uncle came in the room Baby G clung to his Papa.  You can see the terror in his eyes.
We tried to get the boys to pose for some pictures....they were both supposed to sit down and smile at the camera....well....that didn't work out.
So then we tried to have them both sit at the table....that worked out much better.

But before long they were both back down playing.....and, of course, both wanting the same toy.
This picture was taken right after Baby G had given his Grandma a kiss.
 Spending time with Papa....

We gave it one last shot at getting a picture with Grandma, Papa, and the two boys....but unfortunately it was way past Baby G's bedtime....and he wanted no part of it.
But in this picture it almost looks like Baby G is smiling.
Right after this picture we hurried up and put Baby G in his pjs....he gave lots of kisses and waves goodbye to everybody...then we headed home.  It wasn't a minute down the road and sweet Baby G was fast asleep.
