Barnyard Birthday Party

It was party time at the G house for Baby G's first birthday party.
 The theme was barnyard
This was a homemade organic cake made especially for Baby G by Mama G.
Everything was in place and we were ready for the guest to arrive.
Meanwhile....Baby G was cooling himself off.

One of Baby G's birthday presents was a cardboard box that me and my dad turned into a barn.
Baby G was pretty excited about it.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the day.  I can't get over his smirk.  Lately, when Baby G walks he likes to keep his hands down at his waist like they are in this picture....it totally cracks me up.

Then it was time to open presents...
Baby G actually opened most of his presents on his own...

And even read a few of the cards.

 "Ball....Ball...Ball"

My parents brought their toy train over for the kids to ride so after opening all of his presents Baby G decided to take a little stroll on the choo choo train.
 ALL ABOARD!!!
He also shot a few hoops on his new basketball goal.

And then he played in his barn.
He spots me through the window.
And, of course, you can't have a 1st birthday party without the cake...

At first Baby G just enjoyed how the cake felt between his fingers....
 Then he took a taste...
 And dug in for more...
 And more....
Classic picture!!  Pretty sure he was enjoying himself!
 Both hands now.
At this point he looked determined to eat it all...

 And wasn't slowing down.
He kept eating and eating and eating...
Then we started to see the look of a potential sugar coma.
 But he kept going...
 He got hydrated...
And finally looked like he had officially had enough...
But the damage had been done...
Don't worry about Baby G, though.....he couldn't have been happier.  Bathtub here we come!!!!
After he got cleaned up he came back out to play with his big cousin.

They both got in the barn to play...
But when some other kids came in to play Baby G decided he wanted out.

I absolutely loved the shirt Baby G's aunt made for him for his birthday.  But as you can tell in this picture it wasn't long before...
 Baby G needed a nap.
And after about 30 minutes Baby G was up and ready to go again.
It was a great day and a wonderful way to celebrate Baby G's birthday.
