Punkin Patch 2012

I can't believe it has already been a year since....
 Baby G looked like this.
When we took Baby G to the punkin patch last year he was just starting to sit up and had just had his first haircut.
It is amazing how time flies and how much Baby G has changed.  A year ago he was having to lean up against the punkins and this year....
He was trying to pick up the punkins.
This year we also found a new punkin patch.  It is called Country Kids Pumpkin Patch and Baby G had a blast.  They have so many fun activities for kids to do....and even though most of the activities were for older kids Baby G still found plenty to do.
Baby G started in the sand box....only you'll notice that there is not sand in this sand box.....but corn kernels instead.
 And with all the shovels....
 Buckets....
And kids, Baby G was one very happy little boy.
Then Baby G went over to the fake cow they have for kids to milk.

Baby G wasn't too sure at first...
But daddy showed him how its done....
And then Baby G gave it a shot.
They made a pretty good team.

Then we were introduced to one of their many bunnies.  They couldn't remember the name of this particular bunny but they did know that it was one of Floppsie's babies.
Baby G acted shy for a little bit around the bunny...
But then he started warming up....

Especially when some of the little girls started petting the bunny too.
Baby G then went back to playing in the corn with the little girls so we decided to head to the punkin patch to pick out our punkins.

But after a few minutes Baby G started walking our way...
And he had two pretty girls following close behind.

Baby G would bend down and look for a good punkin to pick.
This is a punkin that Mr. G had picked out....Baby G's just inspecting it to make sure it is of the best quality.
The punkin ended up being too heavy for Baby G to pick up but it was cute watching him try.
Then he started running all around the punkin patch.
So we decided to try to find our way through the corn maze.
Baby G took off trying to keep up with the girls in front of him.
I decided to race ahead of him to get better pictures.
 Talk about the 'wind-blown' look.
 He was having a blast.
I was hiding around the corner in the maze and I caught this one as Baby G was about to round the corner looking for me.
Baby G liked how the wind blew his hair.
 Off running again.
Then we stopped when we saw a graveyard in the middle of the corn maze.  Baby G looks like he's seen a ghost.
By this time the little girls that were leading the way had gotten lost and we were now heading back to where we started...
But Baby G didn't mind one bit.
Then we went to the duck race they had set up.  They had water pumps set up and a bunch of plastic ducks that if you pumped the water pump you would send the ducks floating down the pipe.
Baby G was very interested in the ducks.
He started jumping up in down in excitement.
I tried to help him pump...

You can see in the corner a blue duck starting to float down the pipe.
Then Mr. G took a shot at showing him how its done.
Baby G couldn't take his eyes off the ducks....that is....until he saw...

The chickens.
The first thing Baby G did was stick his fingers in the cage and his fingers quickly got pecked by one of the chickens.
But luckily Baby G thought it was funny.

The girls then showed him how to pick grass and...
Feed the chickens without getting his fingers pecked off.
We had a wonderful time playing at the Country Kids Pumpkin Patch and went home with two nice mums and a bunch of punkins.  Now we are looking forward to spending an evening painting our punkins.  I just love spending moments like this with my family....and making memories that will last a lifetime.

Car Wash

After my nephew found one of Baby G's cars outside covered in dirt we decided that it was time to have a car wash.
First the boys looked through Baby G's stash of toy cars and picked out the ones they thought were dirty and needed a bath.
The boys then put all the dirty cars into a bucket.
Looks like we got one more dirty truck... thanks to Baby G.
Then it was time to wash.  In one bowl we put a bunch of foam soap...

And it was my nephews job to put each car in the soap...

And then take a brush and scrub them clean.
In the other bowl we put a bunch of water and it was Baby G's job to rinse off the cars that my nephew washed.
Baby G has gotten better about looking at mommy and saying 'cheese' when asked....if he's in the right mood....and playing in the sink always puts Baby G in a good mood.

My nephew was nice enough to let Baby G do a little scrubbing too.
The end result:  A bunch of clean cars....And two very happy, very clean little boys.

Family Reunion

Baby G was very excited to meet a lot of cousins that he didn't know he had at my family reunion on Sunday.
A great-uncle even brought Baby G a plastic hard hat to play with and another one to give to my nephew.
This is the cool way to wear a hard hat.
One of the best things about family reunions is the good food.  Baby G was washing it down with some nice cold water from his sippy cup.
Notice the bib we had to manufacture for Baby G since his goofy mama forgot to bring one from home.  Oh...and also notice that Baby G was enjoying a snack right after he enjoyed a huge lunch.  This boy can never get enough.

Once Baby G was finally done eating we had to sweep up his mess and, of course, Baby G couldn't miss out on this opportunity to sweep a little himself.

A boys gotta do what a boys gotta do.
And family reunions aren't complete without family pictures.  This is a picture of my grandma (on the bottom right) and her four siblings with one brother missing.  Each one of her siblings had there family at the reunion as well....so you can imagine just how many people we are talking.

Then we broke it down to my grandma and grandpa, my dad, and his four siblings.
Then we pulled together everyone who was able to make it to the family reunion from just our clan.

And then we tried for a 4 generation picture with my grandma, my dad, me and Baby G.  Unfortunately, Baby G was about 3 hours behind on a nap so weren't able to get a good picture.  We'll just have to try again later.   But it was a wonderful afternoon spent with family.....even if I didn't know who all of them were.

Thunderbirds

Since Mr. G had to work all morning we made it to Scott Air force Base just in time to see the Thunderbirds.
My two boys looking for a good spot to watch the Thunderbirds.
How sweet it this picture.  Poor guy has no idea what is about to happen.
As we were walking Baby G got distracted by all the kids running around.....
And then I think he zoned out for a little bit....but eventually he started walking again and we finally found our spot where we would stand to watch the planes.
This made us all very happy.
 I love this picture.
Baby G was just chilling out until the planes were ready for take off.
Then we watched while the F-16 Thunderbirds drove one by one down the runway.
The excitement was killing all of us.
Finally the planes took off....unfortunately, Baby G wasn't a real fan of how loud the Thunderbirds were.
We watched while the planes flew all over the place and even played chicken with each other.  Mr. G and I loved it, Baby G.....not so much.
Baby G would hold on to me as tight as he could when the planes would fly over.
And then once the planes had past Baby G would wave 'bye-bye' to them.  I think he was hoping they wouldn't come back.
Because Baby G didn't like the noise we made our way back to the car.  We were still able to see the planes while we were driving...but it wasn't as noisy.

Here's Baby G adorable reaction to the Thunderbirds.
After we left Scott Air Force Base we ran a few errands and went out to eat.  It was a wonderful day to spend as a family.

Baby G Making Brownies

I wanted to be able to get pictures of Baby G actually making the brownies but I knew as soon as I grabbed the camera the bowl of batter would go flying.  So I wasn't able to get pictures of Baby G making the brownies but I was able to get him....
 Licking the bowl.
So all of these pictures end up being Baby G with chocolate all over him.
But I thought they were too cute not to put on here.
Each picture adds a little more chocolate.
Now I've started telling him to say "Cheese."
Nothing better than a chocolate grin....
Or a chocolate coma!!!
