Hillbilly Swimming Pool

'
We were inside watching it rain and Baby G kept taking me by the hand trying to drag me outside so we could play.  My first thought was, "No way....it's raining!"  But then I got to thinking..."There's no lightning....no thunder....it's just a calm warm summer shower....why shouldn't we go out to play?"  So that's exactly what we did.

Just looking around to see what kind of trouble he can get into.

It wasn't really raining hard enough for Baby G to notice at this point so I let him feel the rain water falling from the rain gutters.  He got a big kick out of that.

Then we decided to head over to our ditch where there was what looked like a swimming pool for Baby G to play in.  Mr. G called this our hillbilly swimming pool.  Baby G was skeptical at first.
But he eventually was daring enough to wade all the way into the water.
He was pretty proud of himself.
He would walk out into the water and quickly walk back out.
Trying to figure out where to go next.
Checking out what Marley was doing down yonder.
 Back in the water....
 Splash around a little....
 And back out.
I think Baby G was wanting his daddy to get in the water too.
I thought for sure he was going to go out into the middle of the water and pop a squat but he never did.
Then we ran around for a while in the wet grass looking for pretty leaves.  I love how excited Baby G gets over the simplest things.  Maybe this is one of the ways God was saying we should be like children....always enjoy the simple joys of life.....even hillbilly swimming pools.

Haha this is fantastic. The world would be a much happier place if we all saw the joy in simple things, just as kids do. I was considering getting in touch with some contractors to install a indoor swimming pool for winter. But maybe I should take a leaf from Baby G's book and go au naturelle!
